Hayward police shoot, kill man allegedly armed with BB gun (KRON) -- A person is dead after being shot by Hayward police Wednesday night, the police department has confirmed. At the time of the shooting, the man was armed with a BB gun, according to the Hayward Police Department's acting chief.The shooting happened shortly after 10 p.m. off of City Center Drive.A witness had reported that a man pointed a firearm at two females in a vehicle. Three officers responded and the man allegedly pointed the firearm in the direction of the officers. Two of the officers opened fire on the man, according to Acting Police Chief Bryan Matthews. OPD arrested a third minor on Wednesday and recovered a second firearm.The other two suspects -- both minors -- were arrested on the day of the shooting, KRON4 reported.
